For me it's size 6, 8 or 10 with the main one I use being a size 8.

Chance is always powerful. Let your hook be always cast; in the pool where you least expect it, there will be a fish

It's 'horses for courses' where I'm concerned mate. Use everything from a 2 to a 16. To answer your question though, 6 is the size I use the most. I do usually err on the side of a bigger hook. My philosophy being, it's best to tackle up to land a fish rather than just to get the bite.

Same as Mark for me.

Varies greatly depending on size is carp targeted, bait size, if i need a knotless knot, snags etc
But recently I have been doing vitually all my fishing with a 16 QM1. Fantastic hook holds and a surprisingly strong hook. Quite confident on these for carp upto 20lbs. Biggest I've used in the QM1 is 12, can't imagine ever needing bigger now. Only exception would be using a 10 for floating bread, but thats more about having something to wrap the bread around rather than feeling the need for a bigger hook.
I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete.
