I treated myself to a John Wilson Heritage Centrepin as this season I fancy doing a bit of long trotting. It came this morning and it's never been used, what a shame just sitting in its box.
Does anyone know how to date these reels.

Excellent Mark! I've always been of the opinion that long trotting is the most satisfying form of coarse fishing.

Very nice indeed Mark! Does the designation Y2000 give it away I wonder?

Just found the manufacture date on the inside certificate, September 2018.

After nearly 11 years of inactivity I hope you put it to good use Mark

It's not even a year old Liphook.

I wonder where they are made now.....it used to be Swindon(?), but may have shifted abroad? I've always wanted one, but prices have gone up again now, inevitably.

I was under the impression that Gary Mills manufactured these reels in his Redditch workshop for J W Young and Sons ....
