That looks great, good luck for tomorrow.

Hope it goes well. Out of interest, why static? My Very limited experience of the Roding has been that keeping mobile is more productive.

I looked at the Roding on Sunday on Ongar's stretch but its badly overgrown... I think I'm going to try the Wid in the morning, although its a roving water I have a feeling all the swims will be taken if I don't get there early enough
Just one more cast love, and I'll be on me way home

Good luck Aitch. Haven’t fished the Wid for a while. Let us know how you get on.

Hi All
Thanks for the interest and goodluck messages
The results are in, 1 Pike about a pound on Lobworm, 1 Roach on double caster, 12 Rudd on bread and two minnow. Tengisgol i hope for bites and if i have to use a landing net i am happy.
Duckett first reason why i fished static was because upstream and downstream for quite a distance was betwen 4ft -7ft so there was a large area to attract the fish, which didnt work 2nd there is a evening match tomorrow 6pm to 9pm and i would like to know what i could catch static if i was to fish the match. I did have two solid bites on Lobworm but was too eager on the strike forgetting i had a massive Lob on the hook. I dont worry about deep hooking ,i always use barbless hooks.Another member Chris was roving at the top end and sent me a picture of his Pike and i sent a photo of mine. I think the match maybe a grueller with one bonus fish winning. The recent rain has not done much there was a very slight flow.
Stay safe everyone

Glad you caught Andyac. I love a Minnow ow and then but small pike on worms or maggot are one of those things that always bring a smile to my face. There ought to be competitions for smallest pike caught!

Thanks for the tip off about the ODAS stretch Aitch. Think I’ll head to an LAA River this weekend.
