Hi guys I have a number of Dam reels in fine condition in fact I was out on Wednesday .. a pair of 440's matched with Constable Forty Fore's in heavy rain carp of 17 and 12lbs one to each rod behaved beautifully .. question - I have seen gold finished reels by Abu/ Mitchell and Dam .. are these superior reels or just blinged up versions or superior reels to their stable mates ? Cheers

If you search hard enough you can find green DAM reels. Possibly home market only.

Not sure about the Abus, the gold plated DL Mitchells are standard reels inside.

Big nice reel the 440. In respect of coloured reels, if you look on Deutschland eBay, (with a smattering on translation) you'll see them come up on occasion, although if I remember correctly, they fetch a premium. Martin is the person to chat with in regards Dam reels, and I'm sure he'd enlightened us as to whether they were 'specials'.
