Gone right off the programme; the form of words used, particularly by Jay, when asking guests "what this means to you,..." (or similar) signals tears. And is designed to. Rather false, nowadays.
The programme has definitely moved into the realm of the "scripted reality" offerings. Tears by numbers....
And not enough detail of the repair of the Ambidex.

I find it’s really easy to record and fast forward over that manipulative drivel and focus on the repairs. To be fair to the Beeb, it’s probably what gets the programme most of its viewers. I just want to learn from the repairing.

Phil, I agree with everything you say. The FF button is our best weapon! Sometimes I miss the cue to FF.....
I have to admit that I have, stored in my machine, 53 episodes, only half of which I have watched.
