What memories of my childhood! My dad taking me for my haircut on a Friday night and on two or three doors down to George's tackle emporium full of juicy, wriggling maggots, luscious yellow, dayglow pinks and other assorted colours, all on display behind a glass counter and doled out by his assistant Arthur in a stained plastic measuring jug, scooped up and placed in our green, plastic Effgeco tin.On the adjacent counter counter lay rows and rows of shiny new floats in beautiful colours which I longed to purchase with my saved Pocket money, ready to use(and usually lost third cast)first thing the next morning fishing the Bridgwater canal with my uncle Bill,Happy days to say the least.
