Anyone recognise this logo?

As part of a mixed auction lot a few weeks ago I got a strange combination travel rod that had a reversible butt that, using an intermediate joint, could be set up with with various pieces either as a light fly rod or as a spinning rod (c. #4 or #5):

This is the logo on the intermediate. Anyone know who the manufacturer was?

It is a 1950/60's Japanese import often sold in Woolies.

I had a Japanese one very similar - unfortunately if you caught a fish of almost any weight - it got a set!

I have a similar rod although it has less pieces. I bought mine recently because it reminded me of a rod from my childhood. I have used it to catch a trout on the fly, the original failed to hold a double figure pike on a tight line.

I have one.
I have often thought about using it, but never have.

They are obviously not held in high regard , but nevertheless, they are a piece of Angling history.

Very interesting that they were sold in Woolworths at one time.
Like a lot more, I have a soft spot for "woolies", having spent plenty of pocket money with them on fishing tackle and sweets, or "spice", as they were often called, in my part of Yorkshire, "when I were a lad".........

By the look of the handle it's obviously had quite a bit of use. The container bag was completely ragged. I suspect the spin rod setup may be rather more useful than the fly, could be used for drop-shotting for perch.

Came as part of a lot which included a v nice Nottingham-Sheffield starback and a virtually unused Trudex.
