Ultra Light Waggler Fishing

Post by Moley »

Huzzah Fatty Rides again to get out and catch some fish, scoff some pies, slurp teas, sing badly, abuse the Ancient Mariner and generally up set the Apple Cart with regard to the accepted hierarchy of local anglers

This is achieved by the Fat Mole, for it is he, catching more than the other pond dwellers whilst performing all of the above :Hat:

Multi Tasking, so long as good scran is involved, is easy for Fatty to display this tremendous skillset.

So having completed a move to the South Downs only weeks previously Matron :Scared: was well and truly glad to see the back of her spouse, willingly writing out a Day Pass, in triplicate mind, several days before the events covered here took place. The Beast even helped pack the numerous pies so necessary for any fishing expedition undertaken by Fatty; even going as far as buying a new Stanley Flask. The old one was deemed truly disgusting and a potential health hazard. Perhaps a little extreme but wives always seem to justify change with abuse to their spouse.

So Abshot Pond was the destination of choice for the AM and Fatty......carting all the scran took two journeys to the venue, let alone the fishing gear!

This is a small venue with only ten swims but the home to some good fish. Setting up an Allcocks Pop with Perfection Roach and light waggler to fish a small pellet on the drop in one of the available swims took minutes. The Mariner did his usual mucking about, looking more senile than ever whilst putting on a ridiculously large float for such a small water. No bites for him then

And so the prophecy was full filled!

Fatty on the other hand, in-between, scoffing some really good pies, slurping piping hot teas from the new flask, flicking pellets at the Mariner who still doesn't know where they come from, whilst singing happily and badly was playing some good tench with a smattering of roach thrown in!

This is representative of the ten caught.

The Bailiff who popped by to muck about with some hard core for pond bank improvement did recount to Fatty about the Roach being about a pound or so just as the rotund oaf holding the rod caught several in quick succession to prove the veracity of the Club Representatives words. Fatty is obliging like that:

The Ancient Mariner was now at the ratty stage, still on an El Blanco, so discretion being the better part of valour, packing up time was declared but not before a Robin' Robin was caught in the act of theft.....cheeky little so and so!!!

Image

Back at the car a call on the newly imposed burner phone, so the Beast can keep tabs on her errant Spouse, announced to Fatty that a Fish and Chip Supper, at her expense, was on the cards.

Driving like Donald Campbell the Fat One got back in record time for a really good feed. :Thumb:

A splendid end to a good day.

To attempt to understand why Matron :Scared: was in such a good mood as to splash the cash on such great grub for Fatty to scoff at light speed, before she changes her mind, is too complicated to contemplate. Have no doubt though the 'orrible truth will be revealed in the not to distant future....oh yes!!!!!!

As ever,.....

Moley

Well done Mr Mole, I hope the Ducklings left you and your loosefeed in peace, the Robin is an avid bait robber but a nice distraction. Abshot is a truly wonderful pond and Steve the pond warden is a very nice chap

Thank you, it always makes a Fatty smile when someone enjoys the madness written down on this site. The trouble is to write the real madness that passes for my life would not be believed by the readers of such drivel.

Hope you and Lilly are well and look forward to seeing you both at the Wally Brook Gonk Fest :Thumb:

So it is rumoured but none took the time to visit any one fishing on the day.....probably only feed early morning.

Not every where fished by Fatty contains Gonks Garry but look forward to fishing the Wally Brook to pester the residents with rumours of nine inch Gudgeon. :eyebrow:

The Ducklings were very naughty and ate all the freebies.....greedy blighters :hairpull:

They especially liked visiting the Ancient Mariner who said some very uncomplimentary things at them

Yes Abshot is pretty but the ribbon weed is truly annoying, getting caught up round the fish when hooked and taking ages to remove from the line!

Got busted by something bigger than the run 'o' the Mill Tench which took a favourite Waggler.

Looking forward to getting back on the rivers soon Rob; that is where Fatty fishes best :Hat:
