Biscuit Wrapper Bite Indicater

Post by Jeremy Croxall »

I was float fishing a pond recently which wasn't fishing well at all. Normally I would have given up and gone home but I was a member of the canebenders team fishing against Ravenfields elite matchmen. It would not have been considered sporting had I stomped off in a tizzy.
The chap fishing next to me, a member of the opposition, had 4 rods set up and was swapping between them and I noticed he was catching the odd fish whilst I was blanking in fine style.
Right, thought I, time to set up a second rod and try a maggot feeder. I duly threaded up my 500, cast towards a mid pond cage and then realised my state of the art painted cork bobbin bite indicator was not in my tackle bag
I had read about people using silver paper folded over the line but had non....or so I thought.
It struck me that my mint chocolate club biscuit had a foil wrapper, time for a snack!
I folded it neatly and placed it over the line but it danced around in the breeze ......useless.
So I pinched on a shot either side which improved things no end :Thumb:

A few moments later the indicator shot upwards as a snotty 2lb 3oz one eyed bream took my bait.
That increased my tally to 2lb 6oz :dance2:
It made my neighbour giggle.

I always have some foil in my bag for such use.
I insist on renewing it regularly, which is really just an excuse to eat Kit Kats, Clubs etc.

Wonderful design Jeremy, very Conranesque. Does it come in any other colours?
If you have no grease with you, and your rings are full of ice, do not cut out the ice with a pen-knife but get your man to put the rings one by one in his mouth, and so to thaw the ice.

Any colour you like as long as its silver
