Waterlog magazine,

Post by Bleak »

I understand this magazine is no longer
in print but I have found a source offering new
back copies. Just wondering people's views on this magazine.
Many thanks,
Phil.

I was a subscriber early on, but It seemed to loose something , it become less interesting to me, and I didn't get it for some years .

I started my subscription once again, but after a few editions it was the end of the road for Waterlog.

The later issues are very different to the early stuff where Chris Yates influence on the content can be detected. The later magazine, a very good quality product, provided a useful platform for budding writers ( I contributed half a dozen articles myself) and also had a hard core of more seasoned contributors. Jon and Rose were great people to deal with and I enjoyed my brief involvement with them and of course I was sad to see it’s demise.

A good Waterlog issue was absolutely incredible. A bad one was still good, worth reading, and head and shoulders above anything else save for one or two other niche reads.

Thanks Gents,

I will peruse what's available and probably treat myself to a few. Winter reading.

Like all fishing mags, some good stuff, but too much dross.

Personally i think the first 50 were the best before they changed the magazine format and chris was involved good stories and good photography.
