Thanks for that. The North Kent marshes was where I started going eel fishing. When first started going was told it was only a 10 minute walk. 30 minutes cross country,over gates & there would be the 'ditches' that we were going to fish

Last year I read an excellent book about a journey (on foot) along this river . The title "To the River" by Olivia Laing, a mine of information, particularly about the most notable drowning on this water, Virginia Wolfe.

Excellent film also one of my old wildfowling spots in winter, happy memories.
