Welcome Martin to the Forum!
And watch out, you might become even more addicted than you are right now.

I joint a few days ago and my fever is still rising.

Welcome Martin, nothing beats a fly caught salmon, you will certainly learn a lot from members on this site, who are also a group of nice anglers.

Thank you all again for the kind words.
If I had joined last year I could have told you about my first 20 on a fly and the very angry 29:8 cock fish on a trotted prawn finally landed on an Allcocks T5 attached to the rod via an “adapter cast”two days I will never forget.
You still can! If you ask Mark, he will set you up with your own journal where you can capture and share your fishing stories.

Wise words Martin. Fly tackle is so hands on tactile. The rushes of a fresh salmon are electric :Hat:

Welcome aboard sir. :Hat:
Not a fish was visible that first time I visited Beechmere; an utter
stillness brooded over the place and I felt the strange and sinister atmosphere which, so the story goes,
has been the cause of several suicides.’
