Mr Crabtree

Post by Caneforme »

One of my Christmas prezzies was a copy of Mr Crabtree Goes Fishing and some Mr Crabtree floats. All a total surprise from my fishing buddy Tim.

This royal throne of kings, this sceptered isle,
This happy breed of men, this little world,
This precious stone set in the silver sea,
This blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this England.

That's a very good friend you have there. No book takes me back to my childhood as completely as that one and no book enthused me more. I wonder how many angling careers it was responsible for and how many lives it influenced?

Nice one my friend. A perfect addition to the man cave!

The good angler is not the one with expensive equipment. Common sense, observation and trying to realize
what is happening above and below water will catch fish no matter what price equipment you fish with.

A special gift and clearly, a very special friend.
It's not just about the fish, if waters are calm or rough, even if the net stays dry, just being there's enough.

I cannot think of a finer present.
If you have no grease with you, and your rings are full of ice, do not cut out the ice with a pen-knife but get your man to put the rings one by one in his mouth, and so to thaw the ice.
