Did that on Hainault lake in 1977... my "mate" went to move his car and he got a run... I hit it and a low double was the result... he got his own back and nicked me bird (at the time)...

I love the priority that you give to the fish rather than the girlfriend.

Well... I found meself a better one a few years later... been together nigh on 40 years, 35 married... maybe he did me a favour

That was the beginning of the end of the Bailey-Miller relationship, when John took his wife back to the car, Miller caught a 39lbs 8oz pike on Bailey’s rod! That’s a big fish to miss out on!

My Levi flares had an extra 6" panel sewn in... proper floor sweepers

Flared jeans with sewn in side panels,denim cut off with band patches etc.Iron Maiden or Motorhead t shirt.De riguer for Hammersmith Odeon,not for fishing though.

I paid 50p for an Iron Maiden Leytonstone pub gig- and felt overcharged- I will stay with Motorhead

Well... considering that was Pre-Bruce Dickinson Maiden I'm not surprised...
Flares were worn everywhere in those days... gigs, school, out with the lass, even sunday best with a round collared lairy shirt and platforms...
