Hello , just joined the forum and have begun reading through past posts whilst Dudley, Eunice , Franklin and co do their worst. I fish mainly locally on waters controlled by PAAS . I have been a beekeeper running 60-80 hives for the last 15+ years selling honey etc at farmers markets ,since the pandemic we have stopped doing markets and i find myself with more opportunities to fish. I fish the river Dane for whatever comes along and takes a shine to worm or maggot and a couple of stillwaters for perch through the autumn winter months . i want to eventually get an upgrade from my current 10' solid cane with split cane top section no named river rod to something a bit sturdier to tackle barbel /carp .

The close season is an important and interesting time for the Angler who set out to catch big fish. It is a timely opportunity for him to make new tackle or renovate old. There are no end of jobs to do, apart from those horrible things called Gardens!
