Charity Shop Chub
A good while ago my son gave me a small softback fishing book that he found in a charity shop.Good condition £3.So.......it's now October and I'm strolling round the stalls at Romsey vintage tackle fair when a small book catches my eye.Same book 'The Sporting Chub'.... for sale at £120 !!! Crazy.

Written by the late Bill Howes in 1960 - a reporter/photographer for the Angling Times. I met and was photo'd by him several times along with other members of the Optimas SG both when fishing and with specimen fish.
He wrote several other books including one written in 1967 - English Reservoirs with Ray Mumford fishing the Knight & Bessborough in Walton on Thames on the cover. Others were guides about various places and tackle. His cane rods were sold in recent years.
