The rod is a fibreglass Milbro. He won it in the 60โ€™s from the Angling Times catching a 6lb+ Chub from the Severn. Nothing overly special these days but a big fish back then. The rod was his pride and joy and though he had many others it was what he used most and fished for everything with it. It was originally 11โ€™ but is now about 10โ€™3โ€ having been broken and repaired many times. I was forbidden to even touch it as a kid ๐Ÿ˜‚

The reel is a Mordex Major centre pin. His go to reel was always a Mitchell 300 but he enjoyed trotting for roach which was were the pin came in. We lived on the banks of the Severn in those days and the roach fishing was phenomenal.
