The fish sold as Bassa is a common cod replacement. It's a farmed catfish originating frome SE Asia. The pretty indistinct/bland flesh has a slightly blue hue to it. Large pub chains are the main user I'm told

I think I inadvertently had it or someone with me did and I tasted it as they had said - 'This doesn't taste like cod!'! No it doesn't -- but you can now buy it from most Supermarkets.
