Thanks for accepting my application to join the group. I found it via a Web search when I wanted to know how old the tackle is that I caught a double figure carp on. I reckon the rod was about forty years old (Sundridge carp, 11ft, 1.5lb test curve) and the reel about fifty years old (StrikeRight Questaflo). I love centrepins for playing fish. You have far more control than with a fixed spool. I have a Trudex that I use for float fishing and an Ultraflo that I use for light carp work. I caught carp on both of those today. Not big ones but enough to put a good bend in the rod. I also have another StrikeRight but don't know what model it is. It's a smaller one, about 3.5 inches with no line guard. It looked lonely so I bought it!
