Use additives, and what flavours for what species?
I like strawberry for tench and chocolate for roach.
Don’t cast doubt,cast out.

Turmeric for Roach
Cheese and Meat for Chub
Scopex or molasses for Bream
Anything you like for Carp
Just one more cast love, and I'll be on me way home

Curry powder, garlic, smoked paprika or scopex on meat for Barbel.
Strawberry has worked well for Tench.
Fish sauce/oil on deadbaits for Pike.
Turmeric has worked for Roach.
Marmite added to pastes has also worked for Chub and Barbel.
Apart from scopex I obtain all my flavourings from supermarkets/asian shops.Much cheaper than tackle shops.
Its good fun messing around with flavours/colours etc, especially when you catch on it.

Hardly any tbh. I make pineapple flavouring for floaters by simmering 300ml of pinapple juice down to 100ml or so, for cooking hemp-seed I add a little sugar, salt and cinnamon depending on season.

I have used fish oils and fish sauce for pike baits. I did once or twice put fish sauce into hemp-seed but got far too many small eels for it to be fun.

Never ever used an additive, or in fact a hair rig, or a boily

Fine crushed egg shells make an unbelievable roach attractant when added to groundbait.

Chilli pickle (Pataks) for perch when they're ignoring worms. Simply add some to water (equal parts), and mix well before dipping a worm into the mixture. (hook the worm first).

I’ve never used flavour additives though I do use some baits for their flavour/smell. Hot Peperami and strong cheese in winter for example.

I think you're onto something there - we add magic ingredients and catch fish, assume it's the magic ingredient...which we may not need at all. :Hat:
