A hatch of rod rests.

Post by Old Man River »

Over the past few weeks I have had a spot of spare time when visiting family in Germany, my son there has a really good workshop with some fine bench , electric , and hand tools.
As he was working away for a few days , and the rest of the family were either at school or work, I took the opportunity to cobble together a few rod rests and other bits in his workshop.

The rod rests have welded steel spikes , and turned brass banding around the tops, I also managed a passable throwing weed drag rake , a sharp welded reed knife that screws into the end of a net pole and some net pole threaded tops and a few additional steel spikes for more rod rests .

The rests were brought home unfinished so I had some work yet to do.

Thank you for looking :Hat:

I'm left wondering how many rods you use at a time! Fine work, though - too good to get scratched and muddy.

I have plenty more Malcolm, if you stick around long enough you will know why I have so many, and not just rod rests  .

"Marvellous!"
I am continually dum struck with the talent on this forum, far far beyond my Heath Robinson efforts.
Lovely work, keep it going.

The close season is an important and interesting time for the Angler who set out to catch big fish. It is a timely opportunity for him to make new tackle or renovate old. There are no end of jobs to do, apart from those horrible things called Gardens!

Very good use of time there David and some rather lovely items which were no doubt also very handy for the tunnelling operations… glad you made it back to Blighty old chap….👍🏻🇬🇧

Imagine explaining the weed rake to airport security.
