Folding Rod Rest

....Inspired by recent pictures of the "Efgeeco" rod rest and Wallys-cast own super model, here is a first effort at making a rod rest for platforms and hard surfaces.

An old landing net head was adapted, finally being put to good use, together with some pieces of stainless steel tubing.
All the folding elbows, ferrules and fittings were made on the old Myford from scrap oddments of brass and aluminium alloy.

All joints are moveable and telescopic and having the same rod rest tops at both ends, it is reversible and can extend to about 3 feet.

The pictures were taken late today in poor light so not good but will post some better ones when this finally sees the Club lake, which is now all platforms. Click on pics for better images.

That looks really good. I managed to get something serviceable from that large auction site. It's a bit flimsy but it works and wasn't expensive.

Very nice Watermole+ ('as usual'). I'm going to repurpose my old rod pod in a similar fashion, if not quite so elegantly. :Hat:
