Hello

Post by Polecat »

Hello Everyone,

New member just posting to say hello. I joined a couple of weeks ago and have been reading the posts - all very interesting.

I'm a life long fisherman but have really only been into traditional tackle for a couple of years. I seem to have an ever growing collection of rods and reels, just when I think I have everything I need (want?) something else pops up I fancy.

I like the old fibreglass rods as much as cane.

Donation made, and look forward to contributing as and when I can.

Cheers,

Polecat

Welcome, Polecat. I'm sure you'll fit in very well. Not everyone here is a cane-only fetishist! My first 'proper' rod was glass, and I still use the float rod I made in the mid-seventies from a LERC blank. I think you'll find that quite a few here actually possess c..... rods and use them, but we don't mention them here because it's not what this forum is about - in the same way that classic car enthusiasts probably don't discuss their latest Tesla in classic car groups.

Hello and welcome to the forum, polecat.
Glass rods are Traditional and personally I use them more than cane.
It's nice to use traditional tackle, but traditional angling is more to do with the way that we fish and the kind of fish that we fish for, rather than the tackle that we use.
Wishing you all the best and I do hope you enjoy the TFF.
