That comes in a variety of thicknesses! I have some and the diameter is related to the power of the machine.

Great item, I want one never seen one before but I have a special Hardy rod in one of my storage units that has the modification done by Hardy for that.

I'm going to dig it out and try and remember how to use a swing tip again. It must be 50+ years since I used one.

Well, if Hardy made swingtips ………

What a cracking item and looks so well made.

Hardy also made glass Swing Tip rods - 2 section - either 8ft9in or 9ft6in - made between 1970 - 1983.

So which came first? The tip or the rod?

I'm guessing the rods came first Olly.

Here's a page featuring the rods, with the teletip listed as 'new' (bottom, right).

Seeing the brochure I won a Hardy Matchmaker in 1972 from one of the Angling Weeklies and built a FJ Trotter about the same time.

In the brochure it says the Teletip is both a QT & a Swing Tip!! Adjustable to either - excellent.

Just like buses, you do not see one of these for years and then 2 turn up. I have never held one before but they ooze quality as you would expect from Hardy.
