Nice job on the reel. Weren't the Gypsy d'Or bigger than the d'Argent?

The original paint was Hammerite before it was offered by mail order to the public in 1970, it was used on a lot of stuff. The maker, Finnegans, were eventually bought out by ICI who still offer the stuff today, but were themselves bought out too.

The paint is zinc based, not lead and I did a whole motorbike with it and not a spot of rust ever formed on the painted areas.

Finnegans also offered Waxoil to rust proof your car.
