There's an Aspindale connection there Lee but I can't remember exactly how it goes.

A lovely rod, whoever made it. It has that air of quality about it. As Wal has said, Aspindales may have had a hand in it.

Croft worked for Aspindales - then left - set up his own business - then reappeared in Hampshire I think.

This rod and all the answers are on Facebook!

Possibly a clone of the Aspindales Severndale

Not sure but I think Tony Croft also built rods for Ken Johnson at Falcon Tackle.

Wasn't there a rod maker called Tony Croft?

The Aspindale Story seems very complex - - - Falcon Rods was K M Johnson of Evesham Road Redditch - Catalogue 1972. Who may/may not have been involved in the story! The catalogue show all his game rods - fly/spin - bound for Scandinavia.

And yep Tony Croft was a rodmaker - - - - in the South?

I was hoping to get more info on the rod itself :Thumb:

I thought I answered that in a way!

Perhaps a Severndale - which he possible made for Aspindales - and remade and renamed once he had his own business.

I have one so a few measurements might confirm or negate the above - interesting?

That is a lovely looking rod Lee! If it was made by Tony Croft it is even more desirable! :Thumb:
