A very nice early example by the looks of it - a classic cane. I imagine the action and feel is top drawer.

I love the close whipped intermediates. There's a lot of work gone into those. It's a lovely rod, I hope it catches you lots of fish.

That is a lovely early MKIV. Ealing address too.
I have only restored three of the same versions and if I remember correctly there are 320 whippings per rod.

I got to about 290 inters but my eyes got a bit foggy, I guess 3 pints of Old Thunderbelly didn't help !!

Add the ring and ferrule whippings and you are just about there. Of course, I may have blacked out half way through and took a guess at where I was up to.
