After thirty five Christmases in Hereford, I find myself at daughter Ursula’s house in Morden. The river Wandle is over the road and I’ve heard that there are some coarse to be caught. I just need a ticket….

I'm pretty sure Ravensbury park is still free and with some lovely fish to be caught

I’ve walked it with friends but never fished. It’s very well cared for and there are lots of easily accessible spots ….. plus a few where I saw good fish that aren’t quite as accessible such as from a pavement over railings! If you are going for a wander, take a long handled landing net!

As Bob the Float says Ravensbury Park is an excellent place to start and its free. I like to start at the bridge at the opposite end of the park to the water mill and work my way down. Its a roving venue really and a bit of wading can be productive. I always fish light here and trot maggots or worms for roach and chub but some people use heavy gear and luncheon meat for barbell. I find early mornings or dusk fishes best.

Look at Facebook - - THE WANDLE PISCATORS.

All the info you may need.

Most is free fishing apart from a Council Green Space/NT.
