Anyone a customer of the original shop? - before the move to Woodford.

My parents buying a float rod for me for Christmas from Ray. My cough was so bad I couldnt visit the relations but could get up to shiver and sneeze at the Eagle

Rays finance sale arrangement " on the book" . Ray looked you up and down and wrote it in a book

The overpowering scent of a real fishing tackle shop with serve yourself groundbait bin

Rays stunning looking daughter from Woodford - way back then sat in her pram

The ""special " rods in rack at the back- too good to touch

A great source of advice and stories from the saturday gathering-they all looked 80 to me then but were probably 40 less

I think the old shop went when changes to the North Circular road meant it had to be demolished. I remember buying a glass rod blank and 42” net mesh from the old shop, 1973?
Used the new shop quite regularly after moving to Chigwell in1984. The baby in the pram had certainly ‘grown up!’ over the years.
