Crow quill Avons….

Post by RBTraditional »

As many of you here on the TFF know that Sussex Micky is one of our outstanding float makers and dare I say it, one of the very best and a perhaps should be regarded as a national treasure….?
Recently on a meet up for a days pike fishing on the Rother Levels he very kindly gifted me a couple of small crow quill Avons which are just sublime… I’ll use them for roach and perhaps a gudgeon or two on the upper Medway before the end of the season… made to be used and they will be. Thank you Micky …. :Hat:

Lovely floats. Micky reaches a level to attempt to aspire to.

Superb👍 You don't get better than Mickys work in my book. He's one of a number of incredibly talented and skilled master tackle makers in our midst.

Thank you Rob and all for those really too kind words, I have always loved to make floats for longer than I can now remember , gifting some to others has always been a pleasure for me which is payment enough for such a small deed.
I guess by now there must be a few thousand knocking about out there somewhere ,I do however find that at my age I have slowed down a little but still like to make a few every week but I don't know how long for now. I know that there must be many in the forum who I have sent a few in the past but I just do not remember who most are now
Anyway I would like to use this opportunity here to thank you all for your kindness shown to me over many years. your comments have meant so much to me, and even more than you would know in my recent illness so to all my friends here a BIG thankyou :Hat: :Hat:

Finally good luck Martin with the grayling floats when you try them out soon , hopefully they will sink for all the right reasons :Hahaha:

No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it's not the same river and he's not the same man.
