Phil Williams, the man behind Fishing Film and Facts, has a wealth of knowledge on angling and fishery management. He did his PhD at Lancaster University. Unfortunately, he seems to have gone quiet in recent years. I hope he is well and still fishing. His website of the same name is worth a look too
