Hi all its nice to find a group who shares my enthusiasm for all thing Intrepid!!
These are a couple of photos of some of my Intrepid collection.
I will upload individual photos if you want but these reels always remind me of why i love fishing!
My first ever reel was a Black Prince followed by the Boyo.

Thanks guys there are still a couple of reels in boxes that elude me!!
I really want a boxed Boyo as it was one of my favourite reels as a kid. I have it unboxed but the boxed one is on my wishlist! lol
And also the variations of the boxes are something i enjoy too, to see how the packaging evolved over time.
I also have a few of the Gladding Intrepids boxed but there is nothing like a good old K P Morritt reel! (in my opinion)

Wow, all those boxes saved for posterity!

I've been wondering what became of Ken Morritts after ther Gladding take-over and the BFR buy-out by Orvis.

It seems he passed away in 1987 and was at the time living in Cheltenham.

A number of US Patents passed on to his two sons:

Incidentaly, it's often stated that his first factory was in Cheam, Surrey, but actually it was in Gander Green Lane, in nearby Sutton. There was some indication that he first started in the back room of an Estate Agent's office.

Re the Elites OzTheCod , never start stripping one down for spare parts, they changed the internal working so often, you'd be lucky to have two the same!. That beside, I`ve been fortunate to land some rather nice large carp with the Elite...........
