I keep meaning to go and have a go there. I used to fish the severn at atcham for Barbel. My wife's Gran lives in Telford which means I always go past Ironbridge on my way over there.

I've heard Luncheon meat works well for Barbel there. Is there a free stretch there somewhere by the town?

That's what I've heard from the car park to the bridge on the opposite bank?

No worries, I've been reading since you mentioned it and everyone has different ideas of where the free fishing is....Typical, They're about as useful as a chocolate fire guard.

I've not fished Ironbridge but I have fished Bewdley and Stourport, I fished Stourport with a waggler a couple of rodlengths out with hemp and maggot for the roach, and what roach they are averaging 6-12 oz with the odd pound fish in the mix, for Bewdley I fished boilies over pellet for the barbel and chub quite successfully on the Trimpley stretch.... I have no reason to believe that either approach wouldn't work at Ironbridge.... Good luck.... :Thumb: :Hat:

i find you get the best results when you put three mill pelets in a feeder and hair rig a 13 or 14 mill pelet on the hook with a foot and a half hook lenght but good old luncheon meat will still work as well but pellets will get you more fish
