Bjames & son MKIV G compound taper carp rod. 10ft

Post by Loop Erimder »

10 days ago I bought one of these rods for a tidy figure of £60 + postage, it arrived in superb condition, plastic still on the handle which has now been removed. I really wanted another one, and now I do have another one :Sun: The same seller had put another one up for sale again in superb condition, plastic still on the handle and with the pink lined butt and tip ring and I also got it for another £60. I shall christen the rods with a Mitchell 300 on each rod in a couple of weeks on a lovely little farm pond. Damn fine happy days :Sun:

If they are in the B&W bags similar sold a few weeks ago for £180 so i reckon even if they aren't in the makers bags you've had an absolute cracking deal. Nice rods and very well made. I have the Avon version.

There's a B&W bag on ebay at the moment for £25, that makes your rods £35!

I'm not overly fussed about bags and the names, so if I could sell the bags then even better of a bargain, then I simply get Ellen lawrence to knock me up a couple of identical bags, one with red stiching for the red lined rings and one in pink stiching for the pink lined rings

If it's a B James & Son glass rod then these weren't made for very long Loop, after leaving Ealing Jim Bruce Snr only worked with his son (Jim Bruce Jnr in Cambridge) for a relatively short time then the brand was know as Bruce & Walker (JB Jnr & Ken Walker) after he retired. I believe that Ken Walker is still alive although Jim Bruce Jnr died about the time of the millennium.
