Amazing what a good clean up job can do!

Well done Lee!
I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete.

Just seen one on Ebay and the seller say,s the bag is original but has no maker,s name label stitched on, the one i,v got look,s to be a B. James bag this has no maker,s label either, was this the norm for the S/U ?

Amazing job. Also a good tip for restoring cork handles that have been varnished.
Not a fish was visible that first time I visited Beechmere; an utter
stillness brooded over the place and I felt the strange and sinister atmosphere which, so the story goes,
has been the cause of several suicides.’

Very nice Lee.

Looks a really nice rod Lee. :Hat:

Not that I'm aware of - I've had several through my hands and most had a named bag as you'd expect.

I bought my Mkiv SU last year and that came with an original B.James rod bag with maker's label. I note your rod has the 2 dural reel bands as does mine but I have seen another Mkiv SU with different reel fittings being the threaded screw reel band type which I assume was later.

No doubt about it the SU is certainly one beefy rod and when this weather cools down a bit I hope to christen mine with a Teme Barbel.
