Hello
Yesterday I was shown an Aspindale "Featherdale" rod. I believe it was 11ft of length and of two piece construction. The butt section was whole cane and top section was whole cane with spliced in built cane tip. There were no ferrules, the top section was plugged in the butt section and it had a metal ring on top of the butt section. It felt that it was quite a powerful rod. Has anyony any infos about it?
Regards
Stef

Re: Featherdale
It's a light-weight ferrule-less match rod for silvers really...the thing is the whole cane doesn't bend much so if you hook something big that short bit of built cane has to do all the work. It would be easy to damage the tip section with a big fish.

Re: Featherdale
Aspindales seemed to have made several rods of this design - with and without ferrules.
I have 1 "Avon" like this and another with a longer handle that obscures the name.
