Unbelievably rare and expensive basically (as you surely know!!) as in in the thousands. A lot of people regard them as the be all and end all of aerials and have sold children, pets and wives to acquire them!

Hahah!!
They are lovely looking reels. Never seen one in the flesh but they are the one reel I would spend silly money on if I had it. Lucky boy!!! If that hit eBay at the right time I recon it'd go silly. Mind you-it'll only appreciate in price.

It doesn't look in bad knick either! Give a good clean up with washing up liquid and warm water- bet it shines!

This is the one that was only made for the one year, isn't it?

I think you are right Nobby.

Model 9053-T2 Aerial Match (not to be confused with the post war Match Aerial), made from 1939 to 1940 in 4" only.

You have a lovely reel there Martin.

The purchase cost in 1939 was 42 shillings.

For me it is it's history, made for just one year at the start of the second world war and I'm sure it would be a fine reel to use.

But Mark, they've got no history, just because it was made for only 1 year doesn't make them special,
rare yes, special no.
