Re: 11ft 4 barbel
I read the title and thought that's a mighty large barbel.
May I ask, which rod?

TBH all I know is the rod is made by A.E. Rudge and Son and it had Barbel 11ft 4 written on it.

Re: 11ft 4 barbel
Is it this one on ebay
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/A-E-Rudge-Son ... 35cce98760
I think I would want to view it if spending that sort of money.
I looks to have different colour whippings on the eyes to the intermediates, other Rudge rods I have seen have bright red whippings like the intermediates.
Also the ferrules would suggest a rod dated around the fifties at the latest also was anybody making specialist Barbel rods at this time?
also the butt looks short, could have been 12ft originally.
I don't know if any of this is fact its just an opinion

There are three things that improve with age: wine, friendship and water sense, and there's no short cut.
