Not the greatest bit of video. However, an interesting section at about 7 minutes 50, when he goes through his tackle. The interesting bit being the use of a painted masonry nail in place of bulk shot. Anyone used this?

Not exactly, although most of the hemp anglers I remember from the '60s used a coil of lead wire wound around such a nail, to avoid the possibility of fish mistaking the shot for hemp and giving false bites.

I haven't watched the video yet - is that why he uses a nail?
