Re: What hooks do you use for your fishing
Falling more and more in love with Drennan's Specialist Wide Gape for most of my big fish fishing. When targetting the smaller species I tend to opt for the Kammasan ready tied ones (coz I is a lazy sod).

Pretty much totally Drennan up to a size 10, Wide Gape Match, Specimen Plus, Barbel Specialist, Super Spade. Above that T6 Raptors. I do like the Guru QM1s for grayling fishing though.
I ten to fish barbed hooks a;though I'm happy to fish barbless where the rules dictate them

Ones with a point on one end and a eye on the other and iM pretty sure they are hooked shaped though sometimes I have to question that.

Drennan - in various types for most of my bigger species fishing - ie sizes 10 to 6 tied directly to lines of 5lbs upwards.
I especially like the Drennan wide gape micro-barbed - excellent for my style of carp fishing - they hold as well as barbed, but unhook almost as easily as as barbless.
For smaller species I use the ready-tied hooks to nylon (sizes 10 down to size 18) with braking strains from 6lb down to 2lb.
With regard to those it tends to be whatever I have in my tackle box - again some Drennan as welll as other makes and still actually have and use some Pegley Davies ones I bought back in the late 70's.

Allcocks Model Perfects sizes 6-14.I bought a leather hook wallet that contained about 100 unused in unopened packets so I thought I would use them. They have not let me down yet.I have even used them on hair rigs.I also use Guru's,Drennan Specimens and various sizes and types of Kamasan hooks.

Re: What hooks do you use for your fishing
For this seasons carp fishing I am going to try the Nash Fang Uni hooks for surface fishing and Fang Twister hooks for bottom fishing, both types in various sizes.
I know they are a lot more expensive but they are also supposed to be a lot sharper than most other hooks. I will see if they make any difference to my carp fishing this year.
