... more a work of art.
No matter how many times I go to The Redditch Tackle Fair with the avowed intention of holding onto all my folding beer tokens ... there's always 'something' which catches my eye and steals my heart !!!
Today was no exception ... and I returned home with this wonderful hand crafted catapult fashioned by Mr. Andy Batchelor ... the last one of 6 he created last year.
Ash was formed into a graceful curve for the 'action end,' and a centrepiece of Oak has been overlain with pieces of Olive Wood to fashion the handle.
Thank you Andy, Sir ... it fits into my hand as if it had been custom made for me !!!

Not so much a catapult ...

I should have known!
The grin like a school boy with his first catapult was a tell tale sign.
It is a beauty

It is a beauty
I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete.

I have one of those, although the wood is much darker... I won it in a raffle at the TFF AGM at the Lands End Public House a few years back... I still use mine, although I have had to replace the elastic a couple of times... its still a delight to use....
Just one more cast love, and I'll be on me way home
