Welcome Cane , do you still have that 1949 Mitchell ?
Yes, it goes out with me on most fishing days as a backup to whatever else I'm using on the day. To my mind it is the French equivalent to the Rolls Royce of its kind. I bought it at a boot fair 25 years ago and didn't know much about old reels then despite owning a few (such as the Ambidex, Intrepid and Strike right). The seller also had about a dozen early British reels, which- I kick myself- I didn't buy. hey ho!
