I Had a day on the Kennet at Wasing today fished a few pegs picking up a few good trout some small roach and plenty of decent dace.
The skys darkened after lunch and thought i would make myself back to the van and seek shelter.
I drove past a few pegs and found one with a parking space so i decided to park up and try a ledgered lob worm in a lovely looking swim as i did the heavens opened thunder lightning and hail stones, i got in the van and watched the rod after a few minutes the rod came off the rests i ran and struck it and landed this beauty. I was soaked to the skin but felt it was worth it. I used my faithful cane and my old mitchell 300.

The most precious places in the English landscape are those secretive corners,
where you find only elder trees, nettles and dreams. (BB - Denys Watkins-Pitchford).
