Thanks for the link, Dom.
Very, very nice. I just listened to it while sipping a glass of Cabernet and idly editing a research paper. I have a feeling I will be listening to it several more times, through what may be a very long winter.

My cat was giving it his full attention also. His ears were twitching and he kept looking around for the birds.
I think we need more of Chris on the radio this winter. As it is, I shall certainly be replaying that programme again. My cat agrees.

Really lovely - it must surely connect with every like minded angler as he paints a picture with words and sounds. Please sir can I have some more!

“I fish as simply as possible” just about sums it up.
Something lovely and simple In such complex times.

Looking on ‘BBC Sounds’, it seems that Chris recorded several programmes over a period of time and some are still available.
Unfortunately some seem to have become unavailable (timed out).
I am simply surprised I have never come across any before as I generally have the radio on Radio 4 or 5 for much of the day.
Still, I have a few to catch up on.

A really lovely, peaceful recording. I listened to it today while doing some intermediate whippings.

If you look on Youtube and just type in "Chris Yates" there are numerous films with him in... I spend a bit of time with a cuppa and a biscuit or bun or two on there from time to time...
Just one more cast love, and I'll be on me way home

There are so few decent programs on Radio 4 nowadays, but Reading the Water was like a breath of fresh air. All thanks to my wife who came and told me it was on. I enjoyed it so much that I have just purchased one of Chris Yates's books - How to Fish, which should arrive in the post tomorrow. Cant wait.

You will love it.... Try his book "The Secret Carp" he references the lake he fished in the broadcast as the one he fished when writing the book....

I'm sure I will. "The Secret Carp" was the next on the list. I did read part of the first chapter, about Chris's search for the perfect carp lake. His writing style is compelling - he makes you feel like you're there with him.
