River Walks BBC 2

Post by Olly »

Just watched part the programme starting with the river Dove in Dovedale. The Warden, National Trust & NNR, explaining the virtues of weir removal after many years that were installed to create pools for trout. A few pictures of an angler fly fishing and a few underwater shots of trout.
It looked very inviting!

'The weir removal helped the flow and reduced the silt in the river which allowed more fish to breed and to survive' stated the Warden

Whereupon a shoal of fish was shown - - stupid BBC - - as the shoal was of - - mackerel!!!!! :Hahaha: :Hair out:

When oh when will they get the correct fish - animal - tree or flower!! :Beg: :Hide:

I think it’s a result of a limited experience of life outside urban areas.
The BBC should try to recruit from outside the M25.
Anyone remotely in touch with the countryside is portrayed on the box like an interesting anthropology specimen
