You will need
Start thread a couple of mm short of the hook eye and wind down another couple of mm
Cut off required length of long chenille, remembering to tease out the fluffy stuff from the thick end, which can be kept for dubbing or put in the bin.
Tie on chenille halfway along it’s length.
Trim the tail end as neat as possible
Now fold the chenille back on itself
Add stripes with black marker
Cut off required length of fuzzy fibre and spread fibres out in order to tie it on as a wraparound, just like the flashing minnow.
Once the fibre is held in position with a couple of turns of the thread, add a touch of glue to the thread before tying in,finishing the head.

Mercy! You make tying a difficult looking fly so easy.
That's the sign of a great tyer when you can do that.
Once again, another great tutorial.

That’s kind of you to think so iasgair, thank you. In truth these flies are easy, not nearly as intricate as the tiny flies you tie. The difficult part was finding the correct material that could be formed into the shape I imagined.
