If i caught such a fish i would give away all my tackle, retire from fishing and then just sit back with foolish grin on my face.
Very well done Pie Meister Sir....

I've caught a few perch in the last few days ; all small but I've been amazed by their condition .
Your fish is an absolute beauty. That would be a fish of a lifetime for me.
Fantastic catch!

Re: Perch on the lurch by
Nope but right about it being glass. The rod is in fact a Winfield Roach Fisher and ideal for trotting/lurching for mid weight fish.
This rod gets used a fair bit, being one of the first decent rods in the Fatty collection from the early 1970's. Michael Pritchard had a hand in the design. The early Winfield brown glass rods were not bad, with this model the best by some margin. The Spinfisher reel is not bad either and still gets used some. Winfield/Woolworths tackle was good especially when compared to the diabolical Boy's Rods and cheap rubbish sold at the time.
Also let me add thanks to all the kind comments by everyone.
As ever,.....

Great result, nothing better that trotting a float for perch, I find them so welcome, that's a big perch by any standard, well done young man.
