Thought I'd share this ...
This has cheered me up no end !!!
Through my little website, I have received this message :-
"Just thought you might be interested. I am Bernard Sealey's great granddaughter. My father sold the company in 1982. We came across your website by chance when we were discussing with friends about fishing! I was brought up visiting the factory and realised when I saw your Tudor Princess pictures that it was my fathers writing. We still have several thousand hooks in our loft! Precision Rods was a trade mark used by Bernard Sealey and Co. I was delighted to see that the rods are still thought of highly! Jackie."
I have, of course, contacted her thanking her for getting in touch ... and have suggested that if there is any information on Bernard and Precision Rods which she, or other family members, could share ... I would be enormously grateful.
I'll keep you posted.

"Beside the water I discovered (or maybe rediscovered) the quiet. The sort of quiet that allows one to be woven into the tapestry of nature instead of merely standing next to it." Estaban.

Really nice thread..it must have been very heartening for both of you. This part of the family produced some fantastic looking rods and although I only have a couple I like to look at the incredible detail in the whipping and marvel at the effort that went into such work. Brilliant stuff AC

Bravo Mal!
Do keep us posted. I'm particularly pleased that this should happen to you after your championing of the marque and all that effort creating your own 'corner of the net' .
That sounds more like a footie analogy than an angling one, but you get my drift.....
I wonder if she had an uncle Edgar........???

I have an Octofloat and an Octofloat De Luxe which in my humble opinion are fine rods both in their construction and to use.My latest project a"Rover"is awaiting its final coat of varnish so it will be in use in a week or two.It musy be very pleasing for a member of the Sealey family that the rods and other tackle are still being cherished and more importantly used.
