A HUGE Thankyou goes to....

Post by Aitch »

Wallys-Cast....
for the stunning rebuild of my 12' Sealey Floatcaster, My pics don't do the work justice, but the whippings are a deep lustrous blue, the ferrule plugs were made by Wal as well.... I am overwhelmed by the quality of his work... all being well It will be christened this weekend, as I'm hoping to get out to one of Billericay's waters... meanwhile have a look see at his work...

Very nice indeed.

Very nice indeed, which Billericay waters do you fish?
There are three things that improve with age: wine, friendship and water sense, and there's no short cut.

You're welcome Harry, it was a pleasure to work on.

I must just say to anyone looking for a Barbel rod, this version of the Floatcaster would certainly fit the bill. A surprisingly powerful rod, the top two sections are almost comparable to a Chapman 550 so its like a 12ft Carp rod.
I was thinking if it also had a separate butt like a Chapman rod it would be a great combination rod.

Wal.

pretty much all the local ones to myself around Brentwood Chelmsford, The Easters, and Thaxted
I fish Thoby Wood, quite a bit, as well as Parsonage Farm, Laundry Lake.. I've just returned to Billericay after a year on a syndicate water, a change in circumstances has dictated the times I can fish, so back to the club I go... Looking to fish more of the river venues this year too

I'll probably fish Windmill Lakes this weekend if the weather stays dry...

Wal I think that it may go with me to the Wye in the Autumn to see how it fares against the Chub and Barbel on the Red Lion beats :Thumb:
