I will add pictures over the weekend of 4 Hardy rods i was very lucky to buy (for the price)
1 Is a Perfection Roach 10' 2 piece
2 The Wye 12' 3 piece
3 The expert 13' 3 piece
4 THE ONE i REALLY wanted , a 5 piece Hardy Wanless num 3 , this is the one, it has 2 butt sections 1 mid section and 2 tips of different lengths and T/C. What i really need a guide to what books are there or useful sites to find out the different recommended uses of the rod, i gave £340 for the 4 rods which i think i was give them. As I said i will add pictures, I have spent quite a lot of money in the past month, but have some really nice rods. Regards Paul.

Splitcaneinfo.com - - - - many of the Hardy Catalogues available here - - but mostly, not all, game rods.
The Wanless and Wye are 'game' rods?
I suspect the Wanless is Special!

Sounds like a good buy, the serial numbers on the butt gimble will help to date the rods.
The wanless sounds like a special order with the extra butt & tip sections, Hardy did that for customers who had the money.

I think the Expert will be about 1957.
As others have said, the Wanless does sound like a customer special, I would love to see some photos when you get a chance..
You did very well buying them all for under 350.00 by the way.

I think the Wanless 3 is a fly/dapping rod - according to the 1951 catalogue!
